Road map

Take the A483 from or to Chester, and leave it at the A534 junction sign-posted Gresford and Nantwich. Go around the roundabout and take the turnoff sign-posted Pandy. Or use the post code LL12 8RU to get directions using google maps. Be sure to travel through Llay when doing this as Ponty Capel lane is seperated by a bypass.

Follow the road through Pandy, bearing right over the railway line. At the T-junction, turn right. Follow the road towards Llay until it rises from a dip with an obscure litle single lane road going off to the right, sign-posted Pont y Capel Lane. Go down the lane (beware of local drivers coming around the bends too quickly!), until you come to a turnoff to the right into Wilderness Fields. At this turn off you will see a sign entitled "Alyn Properties" and a cattle grid, turn here. The River Alyn is at the bottom of the field in front of you and at the end of this road is Wilderness Farm.

If you cross a bridge over the river, you have gone too far!
